CITP (controller interface transfer protocol) was designed to ensure cross product communication between lighting consoles and visualizers. It was originally created for Capture but later evolved into an open protocol that now also includes media servers. CITP is not a real-time show control protocol, its purpose is to facilitate communication between the products involved in the show during preproduction.
